Carmira put the new-car stock of Romania's authorised dealers into one catalogue, gave buyers a dealer map and a vehicle-history check, and gave dealers the inventory, campaign and lead-to-sale tools they asked for next. JoyDev designed, built and ran it from 2019 to 2023.
Carmira began as a marketplace for new-car inventory. Before the first dealer signed, Andrei Ursuleanu, JoyDev's founder, cold-called about 200 dealerships. Most said no. The reasons they gave went back into the product, and the marketplace was rebuilt around them. Twenty dealerships became paying customers.
Then the dealers asked for more. They wanted their leads followed from the first enquiry to the signed deal, their campaigns and documents in the same place as their stock, and financing and insurance handled inside the flow. Carmira grew from a marketplace into a marketplace plus dealer CRM because the people using it asked for it.
In 2021 Rădăcini Group, Romania's second-largest multi-brand dealer network, made a majority-stake investment offer.

Andrei designed the entire system from zero and built most of it: the public marketplace, the dealer dashboard, the integrations and the operations around them. He ran production himself: monitoring, backups, incidents. A four-person part-time team worked alongside him.
Beyond the code, Carmira was a whole business. The marketing, the contracts, the support tickets, the partner negotiations and the sales calls were Andrei's too: the part of the story a CV rarely shows.
In 2021 the platform gained a second brand for used cars. Under the Automira name and domain, dealers listed their used stock on subscription plans, buyers searched by budget, and every car could be checked against the national vehicle registry and its history report. Same engine, its own front door.
Carmira is the product JoyDev built for itself. JoyDev is Andrei Ursuleanu's software company: 21 years in backend and platform engineering across 10+ industries, MIT Sloan and IMD Lausanne executive education, and one product built end to end, self-funded.
Andrei does platform, reliability and architecture work through JoyDev.
